Dien Bien Airport in the north of Vietnam has undergone an important expansion and upgrade.
The project included a new runway, taxiway and an apron as well as a new passenger terminal. OCEM Airfield was contracted to supply all the latest generation LED Airfield Ground Lighting including all runway, taxiway and apron lighting.
OCEM Airfield also delivered the Airfield Ground Lighting Management System (ALCMS), its energy efficient power solutions to power up the airfield as well as all accessories needed.
Work at the airport was led by the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV), the airport will be able to handle bigger aircrafts like the Airbus A320 and A321.
The capacity of the airport has also been increased to fit 500,000 passengers.
Of the six northwestern border provinces, only Dien Bien has an airport, which is strategically located for national defense and security purposes, as well as local and regional economic development.
This contract is yet another important milestone for OCEM Airfield in the region and in particular Vietnam.
