We are thrilled to welcome Flex Industries as our newest member, joining Air Tech Italy in December 2024. Recognizing the shared vision of advancing the aviation industry on a global scale, CEO Fausto Luca (see picture) saw immense value in connecting with like-minded companies in the sector.
We spoke with Fausto to learn more about the company’s journey, expertise, and innovative focus on airports.
A Legacy of Innovation
“I’m Fausto Luca, Founder and CEO of Flex Industries, which I established in 1990, the year we also launched the FLEX brand. As we celebrate 35 years of innovation, our mission remains the same: to address unmet needs in wayfinding and digital signage.
We launched our first product in 1990, namely the Tendiflex, a retractable belt barrier that was a unique product in Italy at that time. Consequently, FLEX has found a vacuum and a lack of both queueing and communication systems in those public environments that has lead us to design and create all those non luminous and luminous panels to fill gaps in the market.
Between 1990 and 2000, we laid the foundation for all our solutions. By 2000, our growing reputation made it easier to introduce new innovations. While airports initially served as a platform to showcase our products, they have since become one of our key market segments alongside offices, banks, companies, real estates, clinic and hospitals, cinemas, museums, commercial centers…(just to name a few)“
What Sets Flex Industries Apart?
Flex Industries stands out for its Made in Italy quality, durability, and a comprehensive approach that integrates full service, software, and engineering. “We don’t just sell products; we deliver end-to-end solutions tailored to our clients’ needs,” Fausto explained.
From designing and engineering to production, every step is managed in-house, ensuring top-notch quality. “We work closely with our customers, whether refining their designs or developing complete solutions. Our strong customer focus is the cornerstone of our success.”

Trends Shaping the Future
“Everything turns digital but it’s crucial to avoid communication overload,” Fausto noted. Flex Industries prioritizes designed queuing products and solutions together with passenger-centric communication, guiding travelers with precise and tailored information. “Digital signage allows us to broadcast the right messages to the right audience, enhancing the passenger journey.”

Global Reach and Trusted Partnerships
Fausto: “FLEX solutions can be found in all Italian airports, as well as in many European and non-European airports including Barcelona, Geneva, Brussels, all Swedavia airports in Sweden, and numerous locations in Europe and the Middle East. “Our repeat business reflects our reputation for quality, innovation, and reliability.”
