General Assembly Air Tech Italy 2025

On June 26th, 2025, we held Air Tech Italy’s annual Assembly at the Innovation Hub of Aeroporti di Roma — an ideal location to reflect on our progress as an organization.

In this article, we are pleased to share a series of short snippets from the many presentations featured at the event. If you are interested in exploring any of the topics in more depth, please contact our team at info@airtechitaly.com.

Opening

President Giulio De Carli highlighted the dual purpose of the Assembly: handling essential administrative matters and strengthening collaboration among member companies.

Secretary General Rocco Marcuccio presented the financial reports, covering past performance, budget allocations, and the outlook for 2025 — including planned budget increases and strategic investments. The activity report summarized key initiatives from 2024 — international missions, participation in trade fairs, and enhanced communication efforts — and outlined plans for 2025.

Tecno’s Marco Colombo and Air Tech Italy’s Jean-Luc Devisscher presented the association’s communication strategy and market initiatives, showcasing efforts to promote member companies, technologies, and solutions to Italian airports and the broader aviation industry.

Key points included:

  • Strategic communication plan: Air Tech Italy aims to raise awareness of member solutions and technologies through a multi-channel approach.
  • Website and newsletter insights: The website is seeing increasing international traffic, with visitors exploring member pages and solutions beyond the homepage.
  • Content needs: Members are encouraged to share more photos, videos, reports, and customer stories to enrich the association’s content library and enhance visibility.
  • Event marketing: Future activities will include expanded outreach at international trade shows (e.g., Munich, Saudi Global Exhibition) and deeper collaboration with organizations such as ICE to boost global visibility.

Vice President Alessia Forte thanked the President for his time and commitment to the association, which she described as a “family.” She emphasized the value of collaboration among members who pursue individual business goals that may be too large to achieve alone. By working together, members can leverage scale, share commitments, and exchange information effectively.

Board Member Marco Labricciosa Gallese underscored the importance of Air Tech Italy’s past and upcoming panels on cybersecurity and digitization.

Board Member Carlo Criscuolo, Founder and CEO of TE2C, highlighted the significance of the military defense sector, particularly with a focus on infrastructure.

Our new members — La Cascina Costruzioni, Sirius Technology, and Tratos Cavi — introduced their companies.

Guest Speakers

Ivan Bassato, General Director of ADR, addressed the Assembly to present strategic priorities for the Italian airport system. His speech focused on the modernization of airport infrastructure through innovation, inclusivity, and sustainability, as well as strengthening Italy’s global connectivity — particularly on routes to Latin America, Asia, and Africa. Bassato emphasized integrating terminals into local contexts, enhancing airside infrastructure with advanced technologies, and promoting accessibility for all passengers. He also highlighted ENAC’s commitment to supporting Italian excellence in innovation and fostering collaboration with Air Tech Italy to enhance global competitiveness.

Procurement in ADR: Innovation and Sustainability – Summary

Sara Piazza, Buyer – Services & Supply Chain Sustainability at ADR, outlined ADR’s integration of sustainability into procurement via ESG-focused qualification, contracting, and supplier monitoring. The Elevate program supports SMEs in raising ESG standards through training, consultancy, and certification. This initiative has improved supplier awareness, reduced risks, and fostered innovation across ADR’s supply chain.

Promotional Program and Target Markets for Italian Trade

Mr. Lorenzo Galanti, Director General of ICE, addressed the Assembly, highlighting Italy’s need to diversify exports and strengthen relationships with high-potential markets such as Saudi Arabia, Turkey, India, Brazil, Mexico, South Africa, and Southeast Asia. He presented ICE’s commitment to supporting companies through trade shows, new promotional programs, and initiatives to access international development funding. Galanti emphasized that collaboration between institutions and businesses is essential to achieving Italy’s ambitious export growth goals in today’s complex global environment.

Next Steps for Italy’s Airports

Mr. Davide Drago, Director of Project Development and Project Validation at ENAC, presented ENAC’s vision for future airport infrastructure, emphasizing innovation, inclusivity, sustainability, and local integration. He stressed the importance of data-driven design, universal accessibility, and collaboration with industry partners. Drago called for stronger cooperation with Air Tech Italy to promote Italian excellence and address global aviation infrastructure challenges.

Closing Remarks – Assembly 2025

The Assembly concluded successfully after a productive day of discussions, informal exchanges, and formal proceedings. The President noted the smooth budget approval, attributing it to the association’s manageable scale, transparent financial flows, and the diligence of management and consultants.

Special thanks were extended to the guests, especially General Sciandra, with a strong request to continue and expand the promising collaboration program with the Aeronautica Militare, which began in 2023. Carlo Criscuolo was commended for his commitment to advancing this program and encouraged to further accelerate its progress.

Members were reminded of the importance of active participation in the association’s initiatives.

The President closed the Assembly by reaffirming the goal of further growing the membership base.

Overall, a highly successful Assembly with a wide variety of engaging speakers and valuable updates on the organization.
