May 30th all Air Tech Italy Members re-united for an Extraordinary Assembly at Bergamo Milano Airport or Aeroporto Internazionale Il Caravaggio which was so kind as to host the Air Tech Italy.

The meeting consisted of three key parts, the first one being an introduction to Aeroporto Internazionale Il Caravaggio owned by the SACBO group.

Our host and presenting the airport was Ing. MD Amelia Corti of Milan Bergamo Airport supported by Mr Cristian Solari, Head of Procurement and Insurance.

All Members got to see a very interesting presentation on the airport and its current and future focus which was very much appreciated.

The second topic on the agenda was the topic of the statutes or the articles of the Air Tech Italy Association.

The updated process is very straightforward and assures that all Members are aligned when it comes to accepting new Members.

  • Every new Member will be required to fill in a Membership form that will also give insights in the main location of the new Member (Italian HQ or not) and whether the potential new Member has taken care of all requirements for being registered in Italy, including all requirements with regards to VAT adherence and the employee statutes.
  • Every new Member application will be reviewed by the Air Tech Italy Board and if acceptable the new Member will be introduced to the Air Tech Italy Assembly where Members have 30 days to share their opinion on the new Member and accept or decline the potential Membership using the right arguments.
  • The Board then has another 30 days to let the company know whether it can be accepted to the Association.

A straightforward process that is made fully transparent to the companies applying and the current Air Tech Italy Members.

The third key topic discussed during the Extraordinary Assembly was related to the way Air Tech Italy Members are presented to the outside world.

At the most recent PTE event in Frankfurt all Members teamed up to create a coherent flow of the way solutions and products were presented just like they would be put up at an airport.

The approach by Air Tech Members would be very similar to PTE but then divided per segment, examples being Ground Handling, Terminal, ATM/ATC which would develop a proposal to jointly present themselves through the solutions or technologies offered.

The key advantage is that airports get offered a comprehensive view on all that Members jointly can bring with a view on the latest trends, technologies and solutions.

Our representatives Marco Colombo (Tecno spa) and Marco Labricciosa Gallese (A-ICE) will share the proposal going forward so all Members can prepare.

Overall an excellent Meeting that will support the further professionalization of the Association and guarantee the successful deployment of new solutions and the adoption of new technologies at airports worldwide.
